McGonigle’s Ribs for Kids event is right around the corner, April 24th & 25th! Every year we team up with the Midwest Foster Care & Adoption Association, MFCAA, to help raise money for local foster kids and their families by selling our delicious slabs of ribs for a discounted price with proceeds going back to MFCAA. Each year, we also have a group of vendors promoting their always-delicious products. Which vendors will be there this year? Find out below.
This Italian relish is hand processed in small batches to ensure quality. As a classic Italian relish Vince’s Caponata blends eggplant, peppers, olives and a few more special ingredients to perfectly compliment any dinner with a flair. At McGonigle’s we like to slather it on our fresh baked baguettes in the morning and for an afternoon snack we dip pieces of our sour dough rounds with a little bit of pepperoni that we have sliced in the deli
Me-Me K’s BBQ Sauce & Rubs
Me-Me K’s BBQ Sauce and Rubs will be here to promote their award-winning, old-school Kansas City style BBQ sauce, rubs, smoked almonds and jerky. This small family owned company is located in Shawnee, Kansas and prides themselves on producing award-winning all-natural barbeque products.
Hot Helga-Nordic Mustard
“Legend tells of Helga, Royal Nordic Shield Maiden, who defended a highly cherished mustard craved by many. Wars were waged to possess the secret recipe that added spice to life, warmth to meals, and strength to her people. Through ancient times, this sweet-hot mustard recipe was passed from mother to child and is now ours. Today, we know the health benefits of peppers and turmeric, but there’s also an addictive flavor here. Are your taste buds ready for the seductive power of a recipe that has traveled through time?”
Midwest Best – Baked Bean Spice
“Our BBQ Bean Spice Mix is designed to deliver extreme BBQ flavor in just minutes. Now you can make great tasting BBQ beans that turn out perfect every time! In addition, Midwest Best BBQ Bean Spice Mix can also be used to BBQ Meat, or it can be used to make other items like Egg Salad!”
“KC Classic Gourmet Foods is a specialty food maker. From bakery treats to gourmet fondues to dips and sauces. If you like to entertain or just snack while watching TV, you will find many items to satisfy those hunger cravings.”
“Macho Mayo is a flavor exploding, mouth full of heat with enough spice to put some hair on your chest! This smoky, spicy spread tastes great on your favorite sandwiches, or enjoyed as a dip! If you prefer to eat like a man, try Macho Mayo instead of boring old traditional mayo. And by all means, stop putting ranch on everything….whimp!”
From up north of the river this Liberty Missouri based company has created a bone shaped and natural snack for your dog. Even if your pet does not know it is good for them they will love the crunchy taste. The bones are all one size but can be snapped into different sizes in case Fido hasn’t bee on the tread mill lately and might not need a full size piece.
“A home bakery built to commercial standards from floor to ceiling. Cookie’s for grown ups! Great for dunking in a nice cup of coffee, mug of tea or a glass of wine! Also great for the lunchbox – a healthier delight!”
Indigo Wild – Zum Bars
“Our people were born to be Indigo Wild. And — guilty as charged — every one of us is a true nature’s child. We’ve banded together to thump and bump the rock and soul into every batch of Zum Bars, Glows, Rubs, Kisses and more. Individually, our peeps are virtuosos who are oh-so major to helping our ingredients sing. But together, We’re fusicians who ensure the holistic is always greater than the Zum of its parts. We make our stuff rock, balancing the rhythm that forms the backbone: Goat’s milk, soy wax, jojoba oil, shea butter, argan oil, dragon’s blood. We add stuff like meadowfoam seed oil, rosehip oil and botanical extracts for bass vibes you can feel. Then we bring out the 100% pure essential oils to lay down a melody that hits the high notes.”
Little Buddies – GF Cookies
Little Buddies cookies have that classic crunch and rich, buttery flavor but without the gluten, wheat, soy, nuts, or trans fat.
“We grow tomatoes, peppers, cucumbers artisan squash, melons, watermelons, eggplant, corn, artisan beans, and okra. We specialize in heirloom/heritage and unique varieties.”
Be sure to stop by, not only for ribs, but to scope out these products and meet the vendors! Ribs for Kids will run from 8AM – 6PM on both Friday, April 24th and Saturday, April 25th. We hope to see you there.
