In honor of Labor Day – a day set aside for leisurely activities to celebrate all of our hard work every other day of the year – McGonigle’s would like to do our part by providing no-labor meals and sides that taste great but require very little effort.
Burgers, Brats & Dogs – Oh My!
You can’t really beat the tri-fecta of barbecue classics. They’re quick and easy to cook, serve and eat.
So, if you’ve got the usual subjects lined up for your Labor Day celebration, go right ahead and grill away. They are a great low-effort option.
Pack It Up for Fast Fun Meals
Foil Packets – this dish is a throw together, low-effort crowd pleaser. Just pick some fine quality meat or fresh seafood, chop some veggies of choice, add a little seasoning, toss it all in a foil pack and bake for 15-20 minutes.
Better yet, if you’ve got a crowd, let everyone make their own foil packs in an assembly-line style and write their names on the packet with a Sharpie when done to keep them all organized.
When you’re done, just throw the foil away for a no-dish cleanup!
Tortillas to the Rescue
Tortillas are great for making food portable. Maybe you’re having a backyard picnic with people coming and going all day.
Set up a burrito bar with tortillas and fixings and everyone can make their own burrito.
All you have to do is cook the seasoned meat and the burritos will be self-assembled by your guests.
You can also whip up a platter full of buffalo chicken tortilla roll-ups for grab-n-go snacks.
Pick It Up and Plunk It Down
